Even though you are given 2 days after an ongoing search find to confirm, RCI ongoing search continues to search and will replace any find or hold with a new find on ongoing search. It is not supposed to be that way, but it happened to me.

Tuesday RCI ongoing search found me Bay Club Waikoloa Beach, Hawaii for 1/18/13, and it is a 1 in 4 rule. I go over to a different timeshare exchange (owned by RCI also) and book a concurrent week in Kihei starting 1/25/13. Then wednesday I get an email from RCI that ongoing search found another match, Bay Club but for 1/12/13. I immediately go to my RCI weeks account and see they replaced the hold for 1/18 for the 1/12 date. This should never of happened. The email on the 1/18 Hold clearly said the date the hold would be released would be at the end of RCI Business day 3/7, but was replaced sometime before 3 pm on 3/7.

I called RCI, they did apologize and offer to put me at top of the list to get it if the dates become available again for that resort. They were nice, I had a exchange credit that was set to expire soon that I planned to use for that trip, they told me they would extend the date for me since this goof up happened. They also said they will try and contact the resort to see if the resort can release an extra unit for that date.
