I have had an ongoing exchange since Oct 31 for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Panama City Beach , A659 Panama City, FL, for the middle of July and it hasn't come through yet. I have had good luck in the past with searches but this is the first seach I've done since the Points were unveiled. Is everyone having the same luck with searches as before? Should I sit tight and wait or worry?

Do you know if you have enough points for this exchange?

Trading power of unit I gave up was 34. Before I placed the search, I talked to RCI on the phone and although it wasn't showing available, the girl on the phone said I should have enough to pull the trade. Is there a way to tell for sure?

You can go on the RCI website and search for any deposits from this resort and see what the range is.

I'd go to RCI and check the Deposit calculator for what kind of unit you are looking for. It would at least give some idea of what is required by showing what TPU's a deposit will receive.

I looked at a 2BR deposit in 2013, will get 44 TPU's, same deposited now for 2012 received 40 TPU's.

Probably time to worry and check it out more fully and perhaps look for alternatives.

I guess I am not sure what to look at. RCI shows available dates for this resort throughout the fall but nothing this summer, so I don't see how I can get an estimate of the points for July. I beleive when I started the search, there was a date or two in the summer with points in my range.

If you become a member you can look in the sightings sections. People often post on the Wyndham bulk bankings. You can also request that someone keep an eye on your request in case you miss it. It's great and definitely worth the membership fee.
Since it is past now, I will tell you what I saw doing a search. The June bulk deposits came about the time you made your request and your tpu's were adequate to grab a studio or one bedroom. No two bedrooms were deposited.

I don't see anything showing a bulk deposit for July, which may mean that nothing was or that no one noticed when it happened. The May deposit had been done at the end of September.

You may just need to hang on longer or it may never come.

Thanks everyone for the info. We've traded for 15 years in the past and have had good luck with searches and trades. This time I decided I would hold out for the one resort I was wanting, so see how it would work out. I may go ahead and add some additional resorts to my search. We are tied into a certain week as we will be in Orlando at Sabal Palms the week prior. We are still tied down to certain weeks because of kids' schedules.

I am a member of TUG. Just figured out how to get that to show.

Thanks again for tips.

Thanks. I got it added a bit ago and found the Sightings Thread. In the past, I've just used TUG for resrt reviews, but not the forums. I am learning.

I posted this elsewhere but it bears mentioning for this thread. If you put in for a specific resort, the ongoing search doesn't always work. I had this happen this week. I had been searching for a specific resort and specific week, and only found it after clicking on 'take a peek'. I have notified RCI as someone else posted the same thing. You may have to keep looking for what is available.

Sometimes the ongoing search doesn't work but for me it has always worked with a specific resort code. Only ongoing searches for regions often didn't work for me. But I've had ongoing searches for months that suddenly matched, so you can never tell. However do keep searching manually every day! Put it under your favorites and see what comes up. Another thing I've noticed that bulk deposits never comes up in my ongoing searches. They never do or only after a couple of days when the best ones are gone!
