RCI OGS - why do I keep getting "matches" that aren't actually matches

I have OGS set up with both II and RCI. I am looking for a unit for my daughter. She and her bf want to spend a week rock climbing near Estes Park. They can go any week in Sept, don't care about the resort, and don't care about unit size. The search was set up a month ago. In the last week, RCI has "matched' us twice, once at Crags Lodge and today at WorldMark, but both in early October. They can't go in October so I have released both weeks. I am wondering if releasing these near matches will reduce their chances for a match in September? Do these matches bode well for a match in their target month of September? Any advice?

Hi

Normally when you setup an OGS you specify which date range you want to checkin. So if you choose 9/1-9/30 then you could get a checkin day the 30th. This will give you the beginning of October but you still got the first day in September.

Could this be the case?

If you decline you won't loose your number in the que, there is however a slight risk that while you have a unit on hold another unit could pop up that others could grab.

Regards

Thanks for the response. Both of the "matches" had start dates in October. It is kind of annoying, but I am getting some data points on the tpu's needed so there is some good information there.

Thanks for mentioning that I could miss a match while the hold is in place. I hadn't thought of that - I'll make sure to release the week right away.

I had an OGS set up with the first check-in date of 5/21/16, and I got a match checking in on 5/20/16. I have no idea why it happens, but just to confirm that it's not just you! I released that one and later did get a match within my acceptable dates, so hopefully you'll find one as well. :)
