That's the same site they use for the travel agents who rent from them and resell the weeks for more money.

So What!

RCI renting our prime weeks is nothing new! I am not saying it is right, and I support the CA lawsuit,... but... we on tug are in the know....You know what is what.. Take advantage of the market... if we don't win on the lawsuit.... at least take advantage of "what is is and what was was"....Adjust to the new reality... Rent your weeks.Use the the non RCI exchange companies to get your best weeks..... some even let you rent them...........

The other thing to do is be proactive. Let other timesharers know what is going on. Spread the word in your HOA. Let others know that there are alternatives to RCI and how to get in touch with them. Lets not let our fellow timesharers continue being lambs to be fleeced by RCI's rentals of exchange deposits.

You have always known RCI was fleecing us, and you said so openly, but you got blasted on Tug for saying so. Now that you are vindicated, how do you feel?
Also can you or anyone else post a listing of the sites you can use to circumvent RCI's exchange system?

I have three weeks space-banked now with RCI and I can't find a trade for them (other than the dregs of Mexican and Orlando timeshares). I'm stuck now but I won't deposit with RCI again. Thanks for sticking to your guns-- and thanks for pointing out the bogus way RCI does business.

I agree...Carolinian saw what was coming down the pike with RCI and wasn't afraid to say it. Several kept trying to kill the messenger. The RCI apologists on TUG are pretty quiet now, and Carolinian could be bragging "I told you so" but tactfully is not.

Now Marylyn...I disagree about one thing you said, the "dregs of Mexican timeshares". Some of the best resorts anywhere are in Mexico...in fact most timeshare resorts there are first class. Care to explain what you mean by "dregs"?

I was wondering about the ORlando and Mexico crack, too, as there are some seriously ritzy ts in Mexico!

Are you saying that you literally get No Results At All except "dregs" in Mx and Orlando? That would be a problem, but many people say "I can't get anything" when what they mean is, "I can't find anything that I feel is valuable enough to accept." That's a different issue.

Should RCI be able to rent weeks we deposit? NO! Do I wish that there was a better alternative to RCI? YES! Have I found a better alternative? For me that answer is unfortunatelly a no.

I get a lot of trades for places I can use with RCI. Sometimes I don't get Gold or Silver crown, sometimes I have to be more flexible with my dates, but I almost always end up with a trade I can use. Most of the alternative trade companies have limited regions available. Some have Hawaii, the carribbean, Vegas, etc, but most don't have any availability in the southeast where I travel most of the time. The alternatives to RCI have a few hundred resorts to trade in to, where RCI has 1000's. When there is a better trade company I will gladly leave RCI. For now, with all that is wrong with RCI, they still come through with trades for me more often than not.
