Two questions (below) on a membership refind:
Their official wording is:
The Member may cancel a membership by notifying RCI by telephone or in writing in a form acceptable to RCI. In the event of such cancellation, a prorated refund may be paid. Subscription fees may be prorated based on the application of the price of a single year membership to each year, or portion of a year, of membership used, as follows: The basis for the prorated calculation will be one-twelfth (1/12) the cost of a single year membership at the time of cancellation (“Cancellation Rate”), even if a multi-year membership was purchased. The amount of the refund will be calculated by multiplying the Cancellation Rate by the number of months of membership used, and then deducting that amount from the actual amount paid for the membership. The difference, if any, will be refunded to the party who made the payment.
1. "A prorated refund MAY be paid" - Assuming no impropriety, any reason they won't issue a refund?
2. "...the cost of a single year membership at the time of cancellation (“Cancellation Rate”), even if a multi-year membership was purchased." - The current cost of a US-based, none auto-renewal membership is $99. So does that mean I'd get back $8.25/month prorated refund, regardless if the last membership renewal was at a discounted price?
Thanks.
