Got a legit email from RCI today with my member number listed and all. Looks exactly like all their other emails. Has anyone seen these before?

Went for it. We shall see exactly what it is. It's a 45 min drive from work, but I can always go to the casino while I'm there!

Got a call today with a voicemail from (800) 572-0931 about it. I've looked up the number and called it back. It leads to the Club Wyndham RCI line. So it's hard to say what this really is.

I'll report back afterwards.

Very, very interesting. I went to this today. It was a 1 on 1 with someone looking at and using a demo of a redesigned website.

The new landing page has a search box with a check in date box front and center. Links to your account are on the top right. For the demo, they had me enter Destin, FL. The check in date box actually dropped down a list of months and you could arrow between years. Each month listed how many resorts had a check in date that month.

Once you get to the search results, the list of resorts is about 3/4 the width of the page with a large picture left, and lots of details to the right much like it is now. It's a much more modern look. The filters were in drop down menus at the top and you could select multiple things in each one (Check in date, # BR, etc.)

The resort page itself had pictures that were about 50-75% larger than they are now. You no longer have to click on tabs to see the inventory, it's right there. The resort info was below that. It looked like it would only display 5 units per screen, but also had a filter here. I told them on this screen & the results screen that I didn't like the "Show More" button. I like to control the number of results I see. Now, it has 10 & 25 and I would like to see ALL.

The details of the available units showed Occupancy & Max Occupancy Displayed as: 4 (Max Occupancy 6). That didn't make any sense when now it shows Occupancy & Privacy (A 4(2) has a bath in the bedroom, a 4(4) would have a shared hall bath). When you clicked on Unit Details, then it showed the Privacy number, bed configuration & other details. I threw it out there that whenever possible it should also list ADA Accessible.

This demo was based on a weeks account. At the top of the screen was a tool bar that had some info that included # of deposits, weeks available for deposit, and trading power. Hovering over them displayed a drop down with a little more detail about each. Back to the resort pages & inventory. At the bottom they displayed some units you couldn't exchange without combining and added button that would allow you to do that.

All in all, this seems like a decent enhancement that won't change what you can search for, but the way you do it. I'm picky about this stuff and it wasn't bad. The one thing I did stress multiple times is to don't take away "Region" section that allows you to break your search down into "FL Other, FL Orlando, Carolinas & Southeast, etc."

Thank you for the update, Chris.

I wonder how many folks that read your opening post thought that it was going to be some sales spiel. You could count me in on that. :D

Even now, I'm not fully convinced. :ponder: Have I become that cynical? :ignore:

I 100% promise I was not propositioned, offered or asked to buy anything! They did have free water, pop, cookies & pretzels though!

"Because your vacation means the world to us." RCI must really care.

I believe you, Chris. No promises necessary.

A $100 credit to your account.....and free drinks and snacks to boot!

Sounds like it was a worthwhile effort without repercussions. :hi:
