We have been enjoying our stays at Ixtapa Palace the past couple of years, and are disappointed to hear that RCI and the resort are ending their connection, and are wondering if anybody might know a particular reason for it. We are there now, and noticed that behind their check-in desk is an RCI Excellence Award for 2019, hanging on the wall, so that makes it all the more perplexing.

Maybe they were offered a better deal with Interval International. Maybe they aren't disassociating. Who did you hear it from? If sales they may just be saying that to try to get you to buy.

At first I asked an agent at RCI and she confirmed the disaffiliation, but did not have or offer any more information on it......
And the guy at the desk at Ixtapa Palace tried to explain, limited to our language barrier, and talked about "membership contracts being completo", and "no more after that". Sounding like they're just going to convert to a regular resort, maybe?
Hard to say, but anyway, a big disappointment for us, we really like staying here, even with it's faults, it's an old style, laid-back kind of place, with plenty of availability, that we had hoped to visit every winter.

Sounds like their contract with RCI may have ended and for whatever reason they haven't negotiated another one. Looking at the cash price on their website you might be just as well off. A jr suite booked directly for February for 2 including resort fees is about $550.

Yes, that seems pretty darn good, especially as we sit out by the pool in the evening listening to the music wafting over from their restaurant. Appreciate your effort to come up with that information......Gracias, Amigo!

Mexican TS are almost always RTU / often with 25 or 30 year lengths .
based on membership contracts “ completo “ this makes sense .

The owner could have continued depositing “developer weeks “ into RCI .
but I suspect the net revenue generated per week would be lower than what their website , hotel booking sites & repeat customers will generate .

I got a definitive statement from RCI that Ixtapa Palace has been moving over to II as their exchange company, but no particular reason given.
They do seem to get many repeat customers, and also "day-pass" activity.
