I am used to not getting matches in RCI since I only ask for what I am serious about and I am pretty picky, especially with putting my Hilton points up.

Today, I have had two "matches" which aren't matches at all. I only enter specific resort codes and I have anywhere from a 3 week window to a several month window, depending on resort. First "match" was for a resort that I didn't enter for next summer, which I promptly declined. Second match was for Carlsbad Inn, which I actually have on a list of requests for fall, but it was for spring. I double checked all of my ongoing requests and they all look right on my end. Why am I am getting incorrect matches all of a sudden?

Either RCI is taking your specs loosely to try to get you somewhere, or...
The machine is playing with you. Consider yourself lucky, if that's all it's doing...

In the "X-Files" episode called "Ghost in the Machine," a computer system starts
killing software engineers. Quote: "I'm going to figure this thing out if it kills me."

RCI writes in their OGS mails that they MAY expand the search to find you a suitable match.

Maybe that is what happend?

I think that is what is happening. They seem to believe San Diego County and Pacific Grove are the same location. I just got a "match" for another Carlsbad timeshare during the time I am trying to go to Pacific Grove.

I've had searches going for over 3 years and rarely get a match. I wonder if the computer robot is feeling badly about that and trying to force something to match.

My concern is that while they are holding the wrong matches for me, I may be missing on what I really requested and next in line might be offered it before me.
