I am interested in finding a home resort that is within a short distance to me. I have read and heard from other users that they enjoy resort amenities year-round (pools, etc) even when they haven't booked any nights. Some of the resorts I have been looking into have RCI points. How does this generally work with the home resort. Can anyone share their experience with this?

Where do you live? If you're in California, Welk allows day use privilege for owners without having to book a stay.

This will have nothing to do with what exchange program the resort participates in, and everything to do with the underlying resort governing documents state.
At some resorts, only certain contracts or ownership types have day use privileges - either they were sold for a higher amount or they discontinued selling them.
