Hi all

Have never visited Hilton Head Island but planning to be traveling extensively there starting this summer and over the next many years.

Our preference is to stay right on the beach or at least just a SHORT walk to the beach.

Would enjoy hearing everyone's favorite on the beach RCI properties at Hilton Head and also if you have some do-not-stay-here warnings those would be appreciated as well.

Rci Hilton head on the beach are few and far between. Marriott monarch can technically deposit in RCI but in reality, there are probably fewer than 5- all off season. The new hilton may be associated with RCI but last I checked they removed it from the rci directory. Out of the 33 properties currently available through RCI, There is Island club sea watch #0066(which I have never stayed at) which is an older resort and currently has 2 weeks available in Feb which is about as off season as you can get. Royal Dunes isn't that far and you might find a spring or early fall week if you put in a search but summer weeks even with searches are very very rare. Out of the other 30, there are probably a dozen that are walkable but none are SHORT walks to the beach especially in the heat with all your beach gear. Even 3 -5 blocks can seem really far.
I would love it if there was the type of resort you are looking for in Hilton Head. I have over 500,000 rci points and would be willing to book 2-3 weeks up to 2 years in advance if such a place existed but it really doesn't. I have to use interval and request 18+ months in advance if I want summer and even then need a fair amount of luck or 12+ months in advance if looking for Easter, May-early June or late Aug-early October.

I believe landing right on the beach will be near impossible trading through RCI. Generally, if you want a nice HHI unit on the beach, owning the week is the surest thing. In systems like Marriott and HGVC these are hard trades either within the HGVC system or through II WITH a Marriott preference.

Here are a couple of near beach RCI options I am familiar with:

Spinnaker Waterside (#5366) is about three blocks from the beach and right at Coligny Plaza where there is a nice public beach. I have enjoyed staying there and conveniently walking to the beach.

Port O'Call (#0995) is inside Shipyard Plantation. There is a key coded gate to get out that gives you a similar walk to the beach as what I described from Spinnaker. You can also drive maybe about 1/3 of a mile within the plantation and have a permit allowing you to park at the plantation's beach access which is nice.

If you have an aged RCI OGS and put it to work now, You may get in this summer. If not, create an OGS search now and put it to work for next summer.

The two options above are good enough (for me) and doable trades. I have also heard good things about Royal Dunes (#3422) that is further North and appears to have a similar short walk to the beach, but have not experienced it myself.

Are you using RCI Points or weeks? How many bedrooms do you need? A three bedroom at any of these RCI Points resorts is about 100,000 points in primetime.

(To the extent some of this is redundant to @tschwa2, I was typing this out during the time she posted.)

I’ve been to Royal Dunes, which was great except for five minute walk. You may want to drive to the beach parking lot to drop your stuff off, then drive back to TS parking lot, and then walk to the beach again. I just booked for Ocean View Island. Will let you know how it goes.

Last week, I did an II OGS, and I got a two bedroom, 6 people unit at Ocean View Island for Aug 28-Sep 4. After MF and exchange fees, it comes down to $680.

Back hen I owned at Marriott's Monarch many years ago it traded in RCI. I think it was because it was a Fixed Week Resort. I have no idea what the deal is today. Anyway it is right on the beach in Sea Pines and was our favorite Sea Pines Time Share...

I would recommend Coral Sands and Coral Sands North by Palmera . These are at the same resort right across from Waterside, so you can walk to Coligny center and the beach
