I just noticed on RCI that points reservation for Bay Club (3684) and Kohala Suites (8599) exchanges went up by a lot. In 2020, I exchanged into 2B Kohala Suites (June 2021 Reservation) for 154k HICV points, today that number is 207k points for same week. King's Land is showing 175k for an April date (in 2020 it was 175k for the week I booked), but I remember that I went with Kohala Suites instead because of the points savings. Bay club was also available for the same 154k at the time.

I have never seen a property change its value on RCI and I wanted to know if this is normal? Also, HGVC recently had an internal points value adjustment, so I am wondering if this is an issue with RCI. My WM RCI account shows the regular exchange value for all these properties.

I got a week at Kohala Suites for 180,000 for the first week in June. I wonder if they raised Kohala or lowered HICV?

There are various types of units at Kingsland and Kohala. There are regular 2 BR, then there are Plus and Premium units. Perhaps you are just booking into a different unit type.

HICV exchanges based on RCI points levels, whereas Wynd and WM exchange on a fixed point exchange per unit type and season, no variations in points for all resorts.

That could be it. I booked a 2BR at 180,000. Happy to get it!

HGVC increased their points value as they integrate and attempt to provide parity with the two systems they have after the merger with Diamond Resorts. This may in part explain the points increase with RCI.

I don’t think so. I own HGVC and the point change was a wash to equal out with Diamond. No impact with exchanges. Probably related to the unit and season.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
Developers like Wyndham, HGVC, and DVC can deposit both weeks and points inventory into rci but none are truely rci points resorts with a fixed grid on how many rci points it takes to make a reservation at those resorts. RCI just upped the points requirement for many of the Hilton deposits and also a bunch of Wyndham deposits that were made in 2022 for both 2022 stays and 2023.
