I found it interesting - the other night I was looking at booking a week stay in either New Orleans or Las Vegas using Bluegreen points. I discovered that it cost more Bluegreen points to stay when booking through Bluegreen than it would if I were to book the same week (same unit type) through an RCI Exchange. I guess it has to do with how RCI classifies resorts?
In my case, New Orleans was 9000 points for a 1 bedroom through Bluegreen and 8000 points through an RCI Exchange. Course I realize the exchange would involve a fee so it might not be worth saving an extra 1000 points. However, this may be of interest if a Bluegreen owner were to be just short on points to reserve - check RCI and you might have enough points to book the exchange (again, figuring the cost of what it would be to rent points from Bluegreen vs. pay an exchange fee).
I imagine many owners already know this, as it may be the case with other vacation clubs as well. However, I found it kind of strange - costs fewer points to exchange than it does to book through Bluegreen. Guess it is kind of like taking a one bedroom unit and trading to a 2 bedroom unit in II - you can find better deals when exchanging.
