Hi Tuggers

Earlier this year book and RCI vacation for december 2015. I had to cancel it though.

The booking was cancelled more than 14 days ago. The booking however is still listed under my confirmed vacations.

Is this normal and when can I expect it to be removed?

regards.

Call the resort directly and ask if they have a reservation for you

When you cancel a week the exchange still shows on your history but it is listed as "canceled". Might that be what you are seeing?

Otherwise it is probably another web site glitch. I had deposited a week and it still showed up as available to deposit as well as available to exchange. I called RCI and they could not see it on their system but it continued to show up on the web version for months.

Now I have called the resort, actually its a DVC resort and my vacation is still good to go, as the rep said.

I even got my confirmation number.

Whats up with that?

Glitch in the system?

regards

I would call RCI and straighten this out. Like you said somebody could use that exchange.

Sounds like a glitch. I had an RCI exchange that I cancelled last year. It did show on my HGVC screen as cancelled, but the resort called me a couple weeks before the check in date to get my room request. I told them I cancelled it a long time ago. Not sure what happened after that. I assumed they would double check with RCI and then open the room to someone else.

just spoke to HGVC and they told me it was an error from their side. They need to cancel the reservation in two systems, and the other rep only cancel it in one of them.

It is now cancelled and I can see the vacation showing up on the RCI webpage again.

Regards

I wonder what would have happened if it didn't get completely cancelled. Would your points be deducted, or would you have to pay a fee?

I Cancelled the reservation I November and got my points back. Since they didn't cancel the reservation as they should I could have used the reservation.

All I lost was my booking fee.
