I was wondering if people could share any RCI exchange success story's for European accommodation?

We had two excellent exchanges for Italy. One was Il Poggio in Tuscany and the other was an apartment in Venice. I had an ongoing search for several resorts and these two came up on back to back weeks. Being in Venice for a whole week tucked back in a residential neighborhood was amazing. We got to visit the Lido, Murano and Burano on separate days, never feeling rushed for time. Il Poggio was also awesome. It was on top of a hill with a great view. On the property there were vineyards, an equestrian center, pens for the boars they raised, a pool and a restaurant. We drove through the hill towns each day. We stayed in Rome first and then took the train to Tuscany where we had a rental car at the train station.then we took the train on to Venice. I would repeat The whole experience. Put in an ongoing search.

I received several exchanges for Scotland. We stayed in Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel and Spa. the grounds were wonderful. The unit was really large with an expansive view of the grounds and locke. However, the 4 mile road to get there was super scary. Absolutely no wifi or internet, and no cellular service. But if you go further down the road there's a tower in the middle of a field and your phone will work there.

For Rome we stayed in an awesome Airbnb apartment. It was really lovely, great location, really good price. For Tuscany I stayed in a Hilton timeshare which booked within the system.

Near the sea.
We had a Greece timeshare on Paros island that was nice. Several years ago we had a Venice exchange. Terrible accommodations but great location. Can't remember the name but I did a review of it. Two years ago I traded for a narrow boat on a canal near Chester, England. Interesting challenge. Won't do it again. I probably did a review of this too.

We've timeshared on Portugal's Algarve, and in Spain roughly a half hour by train from Barcelona using RCI. In both cases, the resorts were part of larger resorts. I'd say generally not up to the quality we're used to at resorts in the US and Mexico. We used them primarily as a hub from which to explore the surrounding areas. We've had better accommodations using VRBO.

It would help if you'd say more about where you want to go, and what you like to do, and what times of year you can travel. We've successfully exchanged numerous times into Europe thru RCI. It was easier in the olden days, before they morphed into more of a rental company than an exchange company, but can probably still be done with enough advance searching.

Would you mind sharing the name of the Venice exchange?
It was probably a 1-BR apartment I Gioielli del Doge, if my memory serves me correctly. We enjoyed an excellent exchange into the place, as did a few other TUGgers.
