In my opinion, CI points are too valuable to give to RCI. Best to do a direct exchange or rent out. CI Zihua is an impossible find, from my experience.

My understanding is that CI is so valuable it should be easy to get a favorable direct exchange in particulat for Zihua. Is this the correct interprestation of your remarks?
When did you buy CI points? Those of us who have had them for years cannot deal directly with RCI - only through CI and their Extraordinary Escapes program (if we belong to it, which I choose not to do since I deal with II only for my CI exchanges). That RCI membership is a corporate CI membership. If you bought CI points relatively recently I have heard here on TUG that you can get your own individual RCI membership, but I don't know of anyone who has actually done this.

If you trade CI pts thru CI's corporate RCI account ( via the Extraordinary Escapes program ) Then all 2 bd "RED" season trades are 150 CI points.. BUT if you just bought and have your own individual RCI membership, you'll likely have to reserve a week at one of the CI resorts and deposit that week into RCI. BUT, as Tashamen said, we here on TUG haven't heard of anyone who has their own individual RCI membership thru CI yet
Yes, I only bought points recently and need a direct RCI membership. I was informed by a real estate broker at Whistler that a week at CI was reserved and deposited into RCI. However, the only people I have spoken to at RCI are totally unfamiliar with the situation.

I would think you need to speak to CI Member Services, who are usually very helpful. However, this presupposes that you have been recognized by CI as an owner - it's not clear from your comment about a real estate broker whether that's the case or not. If you bought CI points from a broker, I don't think that they could make a reservation directly into RCI for you - you would likely have to do that yourself. In any case I would start with someone at CI to straighten it out.
If you do figure it out and get an individual RCI membership, please let us know here.
