RCI account link from Wyndham portal for new Wyndham owner account

Good morning! I hope everyone had a great holiday season.

My Wyndham owner account was setup around a month ago. I bought two resale contracts which were both in my owner profile within days of the new account setup. I had a few issues of my account getting deleted and a few other minor issues but overall everything has been working.

The issue I'm having now is with the RCI link. The portal link isn't on my profile. I called RCI and they said I have a valid account and even gave me my account number. They said that there was no way for me to access the RCI last calls or inventory except through the Wyndham portal on the myclubwyndham.com website though. I've called the guys at Wyndham at least 3 times and set a couple of emails but am not having any luck. Each person I speak to basically tells me 'they' are busy and it should be there soon.

Anyone know how long this generally takes to get setup?

Back when I had it done (long ago, in the old system) maybe a couple of weeks of bugging them. My only advice is to keep calling and maybe you'll hit someone who will make it a priority.

You can actually search Last Call and Extra Vacations (i.e. cash vacations) once you set up an account directly with RCI using your member number. But you can't search exchanges until you can get in through the Wyndham portal.

The RCI exchange link is much harder to find than before. It is under the Exchanges tab on the My Ownership page:

Home > My Ownership > Exchanges

If it isn’t showing there, you’ll have to hound Wyndham to get it set up properly as paxsarah says.

paxsarah that's a tough race! Good luck! I finished Ironman Coeur d'Alene in 2011. Doesn't matter which one you do, the finish for all of them is amazing.

So is it possible to set up an account directly with RCI? I have an account number but when I try to go through the registration process I get the following error:

Cannot register due to membertype,service code,club member failure.

I actually move through the entire setup process but when I finally get to where the account is about to created I get that error. :|

It may be that they no longer allow it. It was possible when I first bought back in 2010, but both systems have had changes since then.

For the RCI account through the Wyndham website, you may want to call in and ask to be transferred to the Wyndham/RCI people. They should be able to help you.

Had this same issue it took almost three months of calling and hounding both Wyndham and RCI. Wyndham is responsible if your account is set up and active with RCI

I sent screen shots of the error codes to the Wyndham reps and just keep calling them 2 times a week. They have a call log for every time you call.

Were all these problems recently? I got my account set up in August and I posted the same question as the OP here, and I was told to give Wyndham a call which I did. There was almost no hold time, the person I spoke to understood and said she would set it up and the next time I checked, a few days later, it was done.
