I was looking through the 2008 RCI weeks subscribing member directory for an answer to a question I had on who can be listed on membership. I started glancing through the pages and I noticed on page 400 under section 19.2.3 a suspension/termination clause that reads suspension/termination can occur if:
in the event that the RCI Weeks Exchange Program terminates
I checked back in the only other RCI Community guide I have and can't seem to find any similar language anywhere.
Now that Wyndham has become the parent company of RCI could this be the way they are headed? If you check through the Wyndham posts you will see that this is the song that is being sung at the Wyndham "updates". I know thats the tune I was sung a couple of weeks ago. Are they really getting ready to put the squeeze on weeks owners in an effort to force us into the costly points system? The legal language is in place, I guess it is their option to change it at their convenience, looks like they can do anything they want, RCI used to be such a good idea. I hope it doesn't resort to strong arm tactics for the love of the bigger buck (it's already pretty big).
This could become a big plus for the alternate exchange companies if this is true.
