We had some packages to pick up at the Post Office today, plus my wife needed to buy some Gardening Gloves, so we needed to drive into town.
Kim has planted some succulents, Plumeria and Pineapple and since she pricked her fingers a few times already, she finally decided she needed gloves.
First stop was the Post Office to get some packages. When my neighbor gave me some Axis Deer, I asked my brother if he would send me a couple sticks of Venison Summer Sausage. He always has extra so he sent me a couple sticks and I Venmo'd him some money. He put them in a foam box that he gets his insulin delivered it. It worked great.
Luckily, we went there first. I walked right up to the counter and that has never happened. Plus, a few hours later when we were leaving town, we drove by there again and there was a fire truck and ambulance there. Didn't hear what happened yet.
After the Post Office we went to Paddlers for lunch. We haven't been there in a few weeks so we stopped in. It was the most crowded we have ever seen it. Only a couple tables open. My wife had the Paddler Fries, of course and I had a Cheeseburger. I never had one of their burgers. It was really good.
Then we went to Ace to get her gloves. We parked on the street and when I got out, I couldn't help but notice all the fruit on the ground. I mentioned it to my wife and she said "Didn't you see the sign?" It was a huge Mango tree and the sign said to park at your own risk.
After that, we stopped at the Lunch Box and ordered some Subs to take home for dinner tonight. It was kind of like walking into Cheers. As soon as I came in, everyone from behind the counter said "Jeff". They introduced me to some other people there and we talked for a bit. They wanted to meet Kim so they went out to the car and talked to her while my order was being put together. I really like that place, awesome people.
Then we had some time to kill because we wanted to see our road side farmer and he sets up at 3pm. So we decided to take a ride around the northern neighborhood of Kaunakakai. Here's some pictures from around the neighborhood.
Our last stop was out to One Ali'i Park. We stopped to use the restroom and it was clear out, so I got some pictures of some of the houses above the park.
I actually lucked out, my Farmer friend had some more Papayas so I was able to grab some of those, along with some Carrots, Tomatoes, Zucchini and Bananas.
It was a busy day but we got a lot done.
It's a little quiet here around WaveCrest this week. There was a good number of people here this weekend but not too many are left. If they only came for the weekend, unfortunately, they had some bad weather.
