Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
Here's a challenging quiz that tests your knowledge of U.S. law. 24 out of 30 is considered a passing grade. Oops! I just got 23 right.

Some of it is more trivia, than law - like where a president was born, and who said a famous quote.

25. Would've been near perfect if not for those pesky amendments.

Just missed one about Amendment passed in 1992. Some guess work but knew most.

25 but I'm still half-asleep. If I was wide awake and took a little bit more time to think then I'd probably fail! I guess it's true what they say - trust your first instincts.

Somebody remind me, if not that quote then what IS Nathan Hale remembered for? :)

"I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country."

Reportedly spoken in 1776, just before being hanged at age 21 by the British, after having been captured in New York as a soldier / spy for the Continental Army. Hale attended Yale and was a teacher; he was not a "military man" by either background or disposition. Hale was formally recognized only as late as 1985 by the state of Connecticut as being a "state hero".

Maybe the state of CT finally realized (209 years later) that they perhaps had little else of which to now be proud, other than a current very wealthy populace --- and lots of insurance company headquarters...).

29, but I googled the one about Texas (knew it wasn't George). Amendments were easy since I just completed an introduction to law class last year.

29. The only one I missed was what year was the last amendment ratified.

I'm surprised they don't ask who was the first president of the United States. I bet most people would get that one wrong.

I'm surprised they don't ask who was the first president of the United States.

Trick question.
I suspect that you mean the Presidents under the Articles of Confederation.

At that time, the president was a member of Congress, who served 1-year terms as the presiding officer, chaired the Committee of the States (while Congress was in recess), and performed administrative functions. He was not an executive in the way that the President under the Constituton is a chief executive. -- Source: Wikipedia.

I scored 29 and I am embarassed about the one that I missed. I kept on waffling back and forth between the president and Congress on who has the power to declare war --- and waffled the wrong way. Argghh.

DH just scored a 29 also. He missed the number of amendments that have been passed.

28. Missed questions 22 & 25--amendments ratified and the official language. I should have realized we don't have an official language.

24. Eisenhower was born in Texas? Who knew that? I feel good about my knowledge, even if I got some wrong. Very interesting list.

27. I would have had 28 but I read one question wrong ( I read "first vice president" as "first president"; I knew the answer). I missed the "how many impeached" and who was born in Texas. I thought Ike was born in the Midwest somewhere, and I knew Bush was born in New England, and Nixon in California, so I guessed Reagan.
