quick response for sale ad

A few days ago I posted a unit for sale and was quickly contacted by David Kings from UK. A little too quickly wanting to send check.
Any others heard from this person??????????

It's likely a scam. It's certainly a scam if he proposes sending you a check for more than your asking price. See this thread as an example of several recent threads that have more info on this scam. You can also read more about how to sell successfully without getting scammed by reading the sticky threads at the top of the list of topics for this Buying, Selling, Renting forum.

On the other hand, he could be a legitimate buyer. If so, he’ll have no problem with your using one of the several legitimate low-cost timeshare closing companies (use the Search function on the blue bar above) often discussed in this forum and in the sticky links. That will protect your title until the funds are available for transfer to you.

We are new to TUG, but have just placed our TS for sale. Like you we got a very quick response of willingness to buy using check/money order/bank draft. This persons name was also David not King but Maryam - and he too is from overseas. He has not asked many questions but was quick to ask for specifics on us - which we have not given out yet

In reading the above comments there is mention of uising a closing company. Using the search for closing companies I was just brought back to various threads - without any mention of closing companies. Help please if you can

Click on "Search" on the blue bar above. Then click on "Advanced Search". Enter "closing" and "companies" (without the quotes) as Key Words and select this "Buying, Selling, Renting" forum as the forum to search. Then click on "Search Now".

You'll find 25 threads, a number of which, especially towards the end of the list, that include several recommendations.

You'll also find some closing company names and links in the "how to sell" advice thread at the top of the list of topics for this Buying, Selling, Renting forum.
