My husband has wanted to do an Amtrak trip cross country forever! So for our 45th. anniversary, I gave in. We are flying into Chicago on a Friday, and the tour leaves on Sunday. We leave from Union Station. Does anyone have any suggestions about hotels? I an not able to walk a huge amount, so it will limit what we do. there's not much to do around Union Station, except for the Sears Tower, and maybe a river boat ride. Most of the sight seeing on Michigan avenue and museums is 1-2 miles away.
I suggest either stay close to Union Station and take cabs/Ubers over to Michigan ave. or better yet, stay on Michigan Ave (lots of good hotels) and take cab back to Union station.
