I believe there is at least one thread which contains the answers to the following questions raised as a result our recent sales presentation at Ocean Watch, but unfortunately I can't find it at the moment. Hoping that some of you can answer them for me.

1. Do DPs purchased resale from a third party which include the $3 per point fee paid to Marriott count towards one's Marriott Vacation Club level, i.e. when attempting to move from Presidential to Chairman for example? The sales representative claimed they do not count towards your Marriott Vacation Club level.

2. We did a Hybrid transaction with MVC in 2016 adding a Manor Club Platinum week and corresponding number of DPs to our portfolio. The sales representative at Ocean Watch said that Marriott only allows one Hybrid transaction per family. Interestingly, when the sales manager came as a follow up, he asked if we would consider another Hybrid deal. When mentioning that we were told we could not do another Hybrid purchase, he responded that due to COVID all rules are off the table. What has been other's experience with regards to number of Hybrid bundles?

Thanks,
Scott

They lied as usual. 1. Yes they do. 2. Never heard of this but they said they would sell so...

We’ve purchased multiple hybrid packages, both pre and during this pandemic.

Find their claim number 2 funny. Why would you say no to a sale if that is what customer wants?

Claim number 1 of course they will lie to try and make a sale. But to lie for claim number 2 makes no sense.

We purchased a hybrid package about three years ago and have been offered them again. I think they aren’t as quick to offer them as they used to but if it will make a sale it is an option.

Question from our recent owners update since we are on the subject of sales “misinformation.” We were told every three years MVCI has a “resignation program” where they will buy back points - seller gets 60% of market value of points. I had never heard of such a thing and the price sounded too good to be true. When trying to fact check found nothing online other than the Exit program which isn’t very specific.

They were probably talking about 60% of the resale market value...
Meaning 60% of $2.00-$3.00...
