I have read the Tugg message board for a few months prior to purchasing. I cannot begin to tell you how valuable and seemingly accurate the info posted on here is. I also want to personally thank DeniseM for whose insight led me to buy SDO.

Below are the questions I hope you can help me with.

1. How long does Starwood take to close once purchased on eBay?

2. I currently have an II ownership which is paid for the next couple years for a non-Starwood resort, can I just add SDO to that account?

3. Is my week eligible to enroll for Star Options? If so, how many star options would I receive? Also, what are the pros and cons about enrolling?

Thanks,
CJ

1. How long does Starwood take to close once purchased on eBay? It's about 2 weeks or so after they receive the recorded deed

2. I currently have an II ownership which is paid for the next couple years for a non-Starwood resort, can I just add SDO to that account? Yes, absolutely

3. Is my week eligible to enroll for Star Options? If so, how many star options would I receive? Also, what are the pros and cons about enrolling? No, resales at SDO are not eligible for SO

Thanks,
CJ

Congrats - enjoy!

Has the closing company sent the deed to the county to be recorded yet? Starwood can't do anything until they receive the recorded deed. Once they receive it, I wouldn't expect it to take more than a couple of weeks, but they may be swamped because it's the end of the year and everyone wants their deed recorded before Dec. 31.

2. I currently have an II ownership which is paid for the next couple years for a non-Starwood resort, can I just add SDO to that account?

Usually - but II charges a fee for that, so consider adding a year to your membership instead, and then they will add it for free. The ownership must have been changed with Starwood, before you can do this.

3. Is my week eligible to enroll for Star Options? If so, how many star options would I receive? Also, what are the pros and cons about enrolling?

No, it's not - unless you are willing to buy a 2nd week from the developer for $20,000 or more, to requalify it.

Our new SDO deed was mailed to Starwood on Ocober 27, when I called them on November 10, they said they haven't received it yet.

Btw, I used the contact info listed in the Starwood Owners Resources to contact Jose Pagan two times by email, he never replied to either one of my emails. If you need to reach them, best bet is to call.
