Greetings and thanks in advance for any info. I'm trying to help my aging and ill parents figure out how to unburden themselves of some timeshares. The one in question here is a 2BR Standard deeded week 27 at Fairway Forests Resort (Sapphire NC). 2020 Maintenance Fees of $1,110.55 are paid. Week 27 covers July 4 for 2020 and 2021.

I'm superficially familiar with DestinationXchange and have knowledge of Transitions...but I really no nothing about any value (or lack thereof) of specific DRI properties.

Should I immediately try Transitions or do you think there's value in trying to sell/give away.

Thanks again.

Transitions cost $1,000. I think about it as a negative price of selling the deed. If it were me, I'd look to give-it-away or perhaps even sell it for a small positive price. 4th of July week might be appealing to someone. Even if you give it away and pay the costs, you're still ahead compared to Transitions. I have no intention of using Transitions when the time comes for me to exit. I will just stop paying the annual fees and ignore the threatening letters.
