Hello.

Iam newbie in timesharing.
Have read a lot of information in web and this forum..but still have a lot of questions.
Hope you can help me with that.

Anyway Sorry that i asking so much....but havnt any other way to find answers in nuances of timesharing in RCI.

Firstly iam points resort owner.

1) Can i check in not only at Fr,Sat,Sun....or maybe at other day..If yes the week will beging from day i check in or not?

2)Can i buy not only full week? I mean i can get just 2,3,4 or more days...and will pay only for days i booked in resort, not for full (7days) week?

3)About Late deals and Instant Exchange reservations ....is it same?

As i understand "Late deals" it is advantage for weeks users to get low price weeks in 45 days or less period..and you pay money for this week(normally from 140$-300$) and not pay for exchange or any other fee.....Yes?

And Instant Exchange reservations it same thing but for Points users...and you pay 9000 points or less for week ......but as i heard you pay exchange fee too.....if its truth...why as point user i need to pay points(it is money for points users) and must pay fee too and weeks users no need to pay fee for late deals?

4) What about extra holidays? need i need to pay any fee for get it?Or just can pay money for week and go on.?

5)If i want to get several weeks on same resort in same time....need i pay exchange fee for each week? And if i get two or three weeks on same resort and same time in Instant Exchange reservations for 9000 points or less.....i still need to pay two or three echanges fees??

6)Need i pay money for converting my week to points.....I have points week...so every year if i willnt do anything i will get points to my account(my home resort told me)...but need i pay something to RCI for that?

7)How easy to get several weeks in one resort? Or it can be the problem?(for us to travel less than 2 week are not profitable because we are living in Russia so air tickets to most places are biggest part of money)

8)I heard that with points system i have more resorts to choose than weeks owners....is it truth?

9) Heard that exchange in points system much cheaper than in week system in RCI.....lesser than 100$(50 or 60?)

10) Is it truth that not all resorts i can get for exchange......some resorts will tell "NO" without reasoned answer.(i heard that Luxery resorts...Hilton,Marriot,Sheraton...practice it)

11) Why i searching resorts in Asia on RCI.com and found that they are offer hotels rooms(for two person) without kitchen...is it normal??

Ohh....thats all now....sorry for such long Tractate.
Thank you all.

Here's my answers to the best of my knowledge. Other TUG members will fill in any missing info.
1) Can i check in not only at Fr,Sat,Sun....or maybe at other day..If yes the week will beging from day i check in or not?
Yes, but not all resorts allow check-in on all days of the week. If you are allowed to check-in mid-week, then the week will start from that day.

2)Can i buy not only full week? I mean i can get just 2,3,4 or more days...and will pay only for days i booked in resort, not for full (7days) week?
Yes, you can book for less than 7 days. Points are pro-rated such that Fri and Sat night stays are 20% of the weekly point total; Sun-Thurs night stays are 12% of the weekly total. So if you stay Sunday night through Thursday night, it only requires 60% of the weekly points.

By "Late Deals" do you mean the "Last Call" (or is Last Call an RCI US term ) Vacations. If so, these are basically inexpensive rentals and there are no additional transactions fees and no points are required.
The 9000 point Instant Exchange is a program where a Points member can reserve any weeks resort within 45 days of check-in for 9000 pts or less. I believe the standard "weeks" exchange fee applies ($169/$184 for online/phone reservations). These weeks have to be booked by the week, but there is nothing that says you have to stay the full seven days.

4) What about extra holidays? need i need to pay any fee for get it?Or just can pay money for week and go on.?
If this is the same as "Extra Vacations" (for us Americans), these are rentals (same as Last Call Vacations", only at a higher price).

5)If i want to get several weeks on same resort in same time....need i pay exchange fee for each week? And if i get two or three weeks on same resort and same time in Instant Exchange reservations for 9000 points or less.....i still need to pay two or three echanges fees??
When making a Points reservation, you can request more than 7 days, but I do not know if there are any limits. It is my understanding that any points reservations of 7 or more nights is still $139. Separate weeks transactions (including 9000 point deals) will require a separate transaction fee.

6)Need i pay money for converting my week to points.....I have points week...so every year if i willnt do anything i will get points to my account(my home resort told me)...but need i pay something to RCI for that?
$26 to deposit your weeks unit into your points account. Here's all the Points transactions fees . A word of caution...if you own at a weeks resort which has been converted to Points, you cannot deposit an unconverted week into your points account.

7)How easy to get several weeks in one resort? Or it can be the problem?(for us to travel less than 2 week are not profitable because we are living in Russia so air tickets to most places are biggest part of money)
Depending on the season, you can probably get two weeks at a Points resort, especially if you plan to book your vacation at the start of the 10 month window. Several weeks might be more difficult, but you can probably find several resorts in the same area. As for weeks, I do not know

8)I heard that with points system i have more resorts to choose than weeks owners....is it truth?
I suggest you go to rci.com and select the Resort Directory tab. Do a search for the areas where you wish to travel. This will give you an idea of the number and type of resort that is available. A link to Points values is also given for Points resorts.

9) Heard that exchange in points system much cheaper than in week system in RCI.....lesser than 100$(50 or 60?)
$139 for a 7-day Points exchange, $164 for an online weeks exchange. exchanges for less than 7 days at a Points resort is less $$,but the resort may require a cleaning fee for stays of less than 7 nights

10) Is it truth that not all resorts i can get for exchange......some resorts will tell "NO" without reasoned answer.(i heard that Luxery resorts...Hilton,Marriot,Sheraton...practice it)
In theory, all resorts that are deposited in the system are available for exchange (though sometimes I question whether or not all weeks resort is available to the Points members).

However, just because a resort is listed in the directory, it doesn't mean the resort is available for exchange. Many member use or rent out their home units.

11) Why i searching resorts in Asia on RCI.com and found that they are offer hotels rooms(for two person) without kitchen...is it normal??
Yes it is normal, but not all resorts have hotel units.

Great thatx for answer....now most things i understand clearly.

But some things still not....sorry :(

About
Q3: Weeks owners can buy weeks for low cost--Its call "Late deals" (in 45 day period or less)...they can buy it for money. What about Points members...they are also can get same low cost weeks(in 45 day period or less)but not for money ...thy can buy it only for points--6500-9000 points....but AS I HEARD POINTS MEMBERS MUST PAY ECHANGE FEE TOO for such low cost exchange...BUT WEEKS OWNERS NO NEED TO PAY FEE...just price for week(from 130$)
If itis truth...its unfair!

Q11....its normal for most resorts? I tryed to check most asian resorts in Extra Holidays and found only hotel units ....does it mean that if i need apartments with bedrooms and kitchen i need only get weeks for normal points price(not extra vacations and last call) or not in red or white season?

I apologize if I'm confusing you or myself. Maybe RCI in Russia uses different names for similar programs as RCI (US).

Regarding Q3. With the "Late Deals" is a weeks member exchanging a week they have on deposit or are they paying for an additional week (and not exchanging)?
Is "Late Deals" an RCI term? If so, then it might be similar to Last Call where members buy weeks for $199 and up.

Regarding Q11. If units are 2 BR lock-offs, many people will use the 1 BR unit for themselves and deposit the lock-off unit which could be a "hotel" unit. You may have to do an exchange to get a larger unit.

Sorry for my stupid explaining..me english not so good :(

All what i talking about is RCI programms....but maybe some terms called different for European and US users(for example all prices on RCI i see in euro and you see in dollars)
But i will try to explain again Q3.

Are you Points user? If yes you can get "Instant Exchange reservations" (45 day or less reservations) You can get it for Points 9000 or less...Yes?
If you do it and book such week or two such weeks ...
Will you need to pay any more points or money except 9000 points?

And as i know there is "Last Call"(or Late Deals for Europe) Buying week for low cost(45 days or less)..the price begin from 199$ and up.....
As i understand Last Call available for Weeks and Points members(both)

But will we need to pay any fee to buy such weeks?

uuuphh.....hope ..now i explained better...sorry again for my enlish

Don't worry about your English, you are doing fine in making yourself understood! same would not be true for my attempting Russian!

I don't have RCI Points, so can't help on that one.

Last Call/Late Deals - should be available to Points and Weeks owners. The $199 and up, that is The Fee (might be taxes on top of it). There should not be an additional fee to take advantage of that program (assuming you are already an RCI member). Is that your concern?

The idea is that RCI would rather get a little money on the quickly-approaching unsold weeks than NOTHING, so they figure $199 is a good enticement.

You don't own the week, you merely rent a one-time visit there. Possibly just semantics, but want to make sure you understand that you aren't buying it.

For each Instant Exchange week there is a $164 US exchange fee. This is the same fee if you reserved a week more than 45 days from check-in, only the Point value is lower.

I agree with geekette, your English is fine. At least you make the attempt to converse in English, which is more than some people want to do in the US.

I see now...so Instant exchange is same as rent week for Points and normal exchange fee...just points price is lower(9000 or less)

OK...what about Last Call(Late Deals) Can rent such weeks as Points member....as Gekeete told --"Yes"

If Yes....Why Points members need to use Instant Exchange....?? they can use Last Call.....its cheaper .... 199$ versus 164$ + 9000 points.

As i uderstand list of resorts are same for Last Call and Instant Exchange.

Ah, your learning fast. Both Points and Weeks resorts are availabile for Last Call; only Weeks resorts are available for Instant Exchange, so there may be more resorts available in Last Call

Just for fun, I did a Last Call search and an Instant exchange search for Orlando (always availability for Orlando this time of year). Twelve resorts were available for Last Call vacations. Of the 12, only 1 was a weeks resort, the other 11 were Points resorts. Three resorts were available for instant exchange (only one of these was also in the Last Call list).

I should add that the costs for Last Call is $199 for a studio or hotel, $249 for a 1 bedroom and $299 for a 2 bedroom (still a good deal).

The Instant Exchange Point value or 9000 is the maximum (at least for RCI US); 7500 points for US exchange, 8500 (?) for Mexico, 9000 for other international destinations.
