Wondering what the old tennis center on the north side of Folly Field Road near Barony was (or is...part of Island Club) and also are there any plans for developing the old Planter's Row Golf Course in Port Royal?

We walk or ride by them all the time and was wondering the history / plans. The tennis center looked huge.

I'm not sure exactly where the parcels are on the north end of the island that are slated for new developments by the town (including a large public park similar to Shelter Cove Towne Center with another playground like the newer pirate-ship playground near Coligny, and possibly housing slated for resort/dining employees) but you can subscribe for notices from the town to be in the loop:

I always wonder about this old, abandoned resort/hotel at Coligny Plaza that is surrounded on the Noth and East by Spinnaker Waterside. It would be a fantastic location for something.

The old tennis center was supposed to be turned into Bluegreen timeshares. I have no idea what has happened to that plan.

Here is the latest information I have on the old Port Royal Racquet Club Tract:

Parcel 4 Wimbledon Court proposed buildings consisting of (3) four story and (4) three story residential structures. The first phase will include the clubhouse(including guest support amenities, two story clubhouse, resort pool and spa, pool restroom facilities, maintenance and laundry facility and (3) three residential structures. The second phase will include (4) residential structures and the balance of the ancillary site amenities. As of October 5 2022, the project has received Design Review Board approvals. The project has not received Hilton Head DPR approvals, and is under review with corrections required. A timeline for construction has not been released.
