I'm very familiar with ts and II but I'm new to Vistana ownership, so I'm trying to see how things work. I read through the stickies but didn't see the answer to my questions or am not sure that the info is still accurate. Since my purchase closed after my priority booking period my WKV has defaulted to points.

1) Can I deposit half of my 2bd l/o into II and keep the other half as points or will I need to deposit both halves?

2) Is my deposit good for two years from the day I deposit? Or does it expire two years from the end of the UY which I think is Dec 31 but the sticky said June 30?

3) I believe that I read that retrades (if all trades are Vistana) work like Marriott retrades (ie unlimited) is this correct?

TIA

1) Yes. You can deposit one side and keep the other side for Star Option usage.
2) 2 years from end of Use Year, which is Dec 31st.
3) Not correct, if you refer to free retrades. Free retrades are only for Marriott's Destination Club II account.

If you create an OGS in Ii do the points need to be deposited at that time? If the points must be in II and nothing is found meeting your criteria. Do you get your SO put back into your account?

You cannot deposit points/Staroptions - you can only deposit a deeded week, or one side of that deeded week (studio/1Bdm.) And you don't actually deposit a reservation - Vistana will make a generic deposit for you.

ALSO: The exchanging sticky needs to be re-written, but I don't exchange enough to do a good job. It would be great if a Vistana Owner who exchanges with both RCI and II would rewrite it.

You can do a Request First as opposed to Deposit First. With Request First, if you cannot find a match, you can cancel it. Your week is immediately deposited/exchanged out with Deposit First and you cannot "pull back" the week if you change your mind or don't find something you want.

How does request first work?
