Hello to all of you here
I have been hanging around for a couple of months, reading and learning alot from you guys. This is my first question here at this board regarding Aruba renaissance. Is there a owners website and what should be the price for an EOY week in the autumn? Is there any organisation who is managing the resort? Thanks in advance,

Henk, The Netherlands

I don't know if there is a separate management company. The hotel portion of the property is a Marriott Renaissance, but the timeshare is not part of Marriott.

You might want to move this over to the Caribbean forum. Marriott International runs the hotel operation, but this resort is not a member of the Marriott timeshare system (MVCI).

Here is the thread where I asked similar questions.

In checking a a couple of resale websites (Redweek, etc), it looks like the asking price is between $3000-8000 for a week. I have not seen any units on E-Bay in the month or so that I have been looking.

Also on II units do occasionally pop for exchange. I stayed there in early Dec on a AC.

I see youa re looking for Autumn, so just so I jsut wanted to make sure you know how it works. We own, for example, a week 41, but it is exchangeable any time from mid may to mid november ( ~$60 exchange fee).....So the fee is small ( and as far as I know has never changed since we owned since 1999) and makes it less important what actual week you get, but get the SEASON that includes your week.

I love the super easy exchanges....we have never had a week refused and always gotten it on the first request....and you can easily book multiple weeks and accelerate your membership. Changes...no problem and no fee, just send an email and get new week...you even get a reservation confirmation through the regular Marriott reservation system....

No HOA, but the simplicity of it all, being set up the way it is has just eben fabulous so far....well worth the risk, IMO.

it is an email rpocess that can take a couple days though and it is frustrating that there is not much dialogue, no owners manual, or anything from them, but we have generally been pleased. WE LOVE the private island and low rise and quite little "beach" for our young kids....easy to run back and forth to the room.
We now have to book 2 rooms ( at least) when we travel as our family has grown and the downside is that it is all 1 BR, but ieasy to do with their system.

We have thought about selling ( not soliciting, just sharing and youa re looking for an EOY anyway) since we own just too many timeshares from our days without children...and we have larger units to use... but it is hard to part with. I think it is a very cut little resort...with very small kids, I am not a fan of the big mega Marriotts in Aruba....fighting for beach and pool chairs???....ridiculous....no thanks!

Whirl,
Thank you, your answer was just what I need to know. So the system seems more convenient than I thought before. The 1 bedroom is excellent for the two of us.

Hi Henk,

There is a website but the Renaissance don't keep updated...
http://www.seaporttimeshare.com/

A EOY week in autumn.... probably $1,000-$3,000usd.
There are not many EOY weeks at the Renaissance probably less then .5% I would say.
Seaport is the owner of the Renaissance resort and they have signed a managing contract for a few years with Marriott.
You don't have a say on how they manage the resort, but up to now they sure do a good job.

Pierre thank you for the info and website link. I was an Aruba Ocean Club owner and sold my unit back to Marriott, but now I am missing the Island...

The resort is owned by an Aruba company, Meta Corp. It is a Marriott Renaissance franchise after having been a Sonesta property and before that the independant Harbourtown resort.

gmarine is right in the sense that Seaport Development NV is own by Meta Corp NV. :)
And if I'm right Meta Corp is own by Eduardo De Veer...
