I have a couple of questions about the sightings and distressed forum

1) What does a posting like this mean (esp. the "2 6 8 268")

Marriott's Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge
MCV
Phoenix, AZ, USAResort Details & Photos
Aug DD YYYY - Sep DD YYYY 2 6 8 268
Nov DD YYYY - Dec DD YYYY 2 6 8 268
Nov DD YYYY - Dec DD YYYY 2 6 8 268
...
Seen with FXR

(Since the sightings forum is private I used DD for date and YYYY for year)

2) If there is a lot of such sightings posting does that mean the resort is not trading so well?

It is a cut and paste from the exchange company website

Name of the Resort
Exchange Company code
Location (you would have to be on the website to see "details and photo")
The dates the exchange is available.

The numbers 2 6 8 268 mean:

It is a 2 bedroom, with a private sleeping capacity of 6, and a maximum occupancy of 8.

If there is alot of sightings, there could be multiple reasons. Sometimes, it's a bulk deposit in II.

You will also see lots of sightings during low season at a particular resort. Example, there are several Marriott St Kitt and Frenchman Resorts available during hurricane season. The resort trades well and ACs are probably earned for depositing these weeks.

Hi Carol and Lora,
thanks for your responses. I am thinking of buying a TS specifically for trading. I am not sure if this is a good criteria but I was checking the distressed/sightings forum as one of the criteria for how well a TS trades. Is this a criteria any of the experienced TUGgers use?

Got To Pay Big Bux.

Dumb question probably, but how do I get to the "sightings and distressed" forum?? thx
Not sure, but I think access to that is limited to dues-paying members of TUG.

TUG-BBS membership = $0.00

TUG membership = $15.00

So it goes.

I'm stumped as to where to find the "sightings and distressed," forum.

When the main TUG-BBS page is showing, Sightings & Distressed comes right after TUG Lounge -- the next 1 down after the Lounge.

It's not hard to find -- hiding right there in plain sight -- so that's why I thought you were asking how to get in, rather than how to find it.

If you're not seeing it, could it be that you are not logged in ? Just wondering.

Thanks Alan, I see Private Forums now. I think the problem may be that my logged in status shows "guest". I don't think it should be showing as guest if I'm a member. I'm working on it.
