If you have experience with a resale purchase with Judy when you got to signing the final papers what process did you use to send in the final payment? I did the deposit on a CC and was very comfortable doing business this way since I live in a different state and thought that was how the final payment would be made. So how have you paid the final payment while going through Timeshare Resale Closing Services?

I did the same thing (and bought through Judy and used TRCS).

I paid the deposit with the credit card and sent a wire transfer for the final payment amount. I've used a couple of different closing companies now for different timeshares and had a positive experience with TRCS.

Best,

I used a wire transfer from my local bank's branch office. It was something like a $30 bank fee. It took all of ten minutes to complete.

Thanks for the replies, I guess I just needed some TUG regulars to share about the wire transfer process. Sending money off when I have not personally meet a company made me a little nervous.

Generally, CC's and personal checks are not accepted for closings becuz it's way too easy to dispute or stop a payment. So, most insist on a certified or cashier's check, or wire transfer. Depending on the fees charged by your bank, one form may be cheaper than the other. You need to ask the closing company which is acceptable.

Check the fees at your bank before you decide which method to use... if its your choice.

I have accounts at two CU's. One charges hefty-fees for transfers and cashier's checks, the other is no charge for a senior-account. I simply wrote a check from the first, took it to the second, and they did the wire transfer the same day.

Whatever form your payment takes, check any draft carefully for typos.
On the wire transfer, I found two account digits reversed.

We used a credit card for the deposit and then sent a cashier's check for the balance to the closing company. Before we sent the check I did a lot of research on the closing company and on Judi. We sent the paperwork and check by Fedex.

I paid my closing costs on my CC.

I had to argue a bit because it's a hassle paying from Canada.

Nice to get the CC points for the purchase:)

I was hoping to use my CC to get airline miles but alas I sent a wire. Now I just have to wait for the new contract to be added to my existing account.:D

In my case, I bought 2 resales and I COULD have used a CC for other than the deposit, but they charge an extra 3% or something.

I just bought one with Seth and used a CC for the closing, no fuss, no muss. I know most know this already, but just one more +1 for Seth, can't wait to get out to HI as soon as that thing closes!

I just wanted everyone to know my resale purchase at HGVC Flamingo just showed up on my HGVC account today. A mere 11 days after the deeds were signed the points showed up in my account. I am so happy the whole process from bid to receiving the points took 7 weeks.

Thank you Dana and Judy.

We purchased through Seth (but used the same closing company). Paid our deposit with cc but was told we had to pay the balance either by wire transfer or certified check (would have loved to use our Alaska Airlines Credit Card or Citibank Visa for the travel benefits). We wired the funds.

icul8rg8r hopefully you will see your points soon. We already had an existing HGVC account so when I logged in I saw the added points and the contract. We still have not received our welcome letter from HGVC. Does anyone know if they send you one when you add a purchase to an existing account?
