RCI Insurance

I purchased the RCI Insurance a few months back when I booked an exchange. If I cancel the reservation, how long do I have to rebook before I have to pay another exchange fee?

That is right. Your exchange fee is a credit valid for six months from cancellation.

You may want to wait to cancel until your ready to book something else. This of course assumes the exchange is a ways out. I think you can cancel up to a day or so before checkin. Once you cancel, you have 6 months from that day to use the credit. It is not to your benefit to give RCI a lot of lead time.

If you book an exchange with the credit and buy insurance on that exchange, you can cancel and start the process again. Is that what you mean?

Just to clarify, the credit gives you six months to book something, correct? You don't need to actually travel within the six months, just book within six months, right?

I purchased the insurance when I made an exchange. We book Park City for the second week of a two week trip out West. The first week was a travel week in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. When I started checking, most of the park hotels were closed that week, so I cancelled my Park City week and made another exchange for an earlier week. Now my SIL that was going along, is going to have double knee replacement next summer and thinks we should put off the trip till 2013. So I will need to cancel again and try to find a week in September 2013 in Park City. Will the insurance work on this second cancellation?

Only if you paid for insurance the second time too.
