I have an old deeded week at a prevoius fairfield resort (now Wyndham) AND fair share points at a different wyndham resort. I heard somewhere that if you have points, you are allowed to exchange out the old deeded weeks and convert to points at no charge or is that only if you buy additional new points from a resort? Thanks...

Only if you buy more at full price. Usually its cheaper (by a large margin) to simply buy more resale points rather than pay far too much to convert a week to points.

If you need another opinion as reinforcement, it is the same as expressed already.

Resale points have fallen so far in price now that conversion, VIP questions etc are just not relevant anymore, if they ever were.

If you need additional points for short tem use you usually are better off renting them from other Wyndham members.
