I first would like to say thank you for all the great information. We just purchased our second Wyndam timeshare thru eBay. We thought 259,000 points would be enough but we really like the timeshare way. We just purchased smokey mnt. Last week. This is a April 1 thru 3/31. I wanted to use the pointsc for next March. I would have to book 10 months out and that is the middle of May. 1st question does anybody know how long it is taking for smokey mtn. To close and have your new points to show up on the Wyndam site? Second is there a way around to have your timeshare co. Make your reservation? We used the same company before.

I don't think they'll be able to make a reservation for you, but you can ask. It took Wyndham almost 8 weeks to process my last one (they got it early February and last week of March).

If you read most e-bay ads terms they specifically say they cannot make a reservation during closing process.

Also, per another post here, reservations made by prior owner are theirs, so even if e-bay seller had original owner make before Wyndham recorded you as new owner it would not carry forward to your account. E-bay sellers(post card guys) do not notify Wyndham of their "purchase" and pay $299 so Wyndham will not talk with them!

You could contact e-bay seller and ask to have original owner make and use guest certifcate to put in your name.

As far as processing times it is crap shoot!:wall:

Thanks

Yes, I know they can't make reservations. I did read my ebay listing. I was just hoping someone had a trade secret. Or could tell me smokey mnts was moving fast for transfers.
