For those of you who own multiple timeshares and have been renting them out for the last few years....are you having a harder time renting now that the economy has gone south, including higher gas prices and airfares?? Thanks for the input.

I have had a lot harder time renting my weeks this year. I had to discount my rental prices on most of my rental weeks significantly to try and find renters. Also the weeks I did rent were mainly last minute. I had several weeks that didn't rent at all and had to use myself for long weekends. Even worse I have a couple of weeks that I have banked with RCI just to not count them as a total loss. Another year or 2 of this kind of rental economy and I will be dumping several weeks.

Where do you advertise your rental weeks ? Have you already listed your 2009 weeks ?

Yes!!

The week that ATA and Aloha went bust, my rentals dropped to almost nothing. :annoyed:

In the 1st quarter I rented 40+ units:whoopie: , since then it has been slim, only 6 in the last 5 plus months.

We had 7 Big Island 2 bedrooms sit vacant:eek:

To advertise we use our site, Bidshares, redweeks, Tug, to list our rentals. We have in the past used Myresortnetworks, but haven't lately.

We try to list at 6 months to start, and most activity occurs at 2 to 3 months.

fwiw,

Greg
