Question for NCV Platinum owners

How difficult is it to reserve a week 27, 28, 29 30, 31, 32 or 33 at NCV? It would seem to me that the long Platinum season (June-December) for this resort would result in an awfully large pool of eligible owners vying for these prime summer weeks. Has any owner ever been in a situation where they have not been able to reserve one of these weeks?

There are a lot of posts on this board saying that getting a NCV duing the summer is very difficult. you must call exactaly 12 months ahead at 6 am when the reservations opens. and even then you might not get the week.

NCV has a platinum time of June thru Dec but most owners seem to think that platinum time is July thru Sept. This means that there is always a huge demand for these prime summer weeks. You will be able to get a platinum week but you'll get one in Oct, Nov or Dec if you don't plan way ahead.

Pretty difficult, and I've heard it's also difficult for some 13 month reservations too. A substantial amount of units came online for this year, with more scheduled for 2007, but NCV has gotten really popular since we bought in 2004.

My suggestion, if one only owns one unit/season (we own one week in each season) and one does not own another Marriott in concurrent season, is to purchase a blue MDS week resale (no ROFR and they can be had reasonably) and use the 13 month rule.

For example, I tried last year, from late June, to get a reservation for this year. I finally was able to get one for mid-August. The year before, I had no trouble getting a July reservation in one try.

Personally, I don't see it getting any better...
