We will be @ the Tropical Sands Resort (Estero Blvd) in Fort Myers Beach for Christmas. Can any one recommend a average priced restrauant, that serves good food, with a casual dress code, for a family Christmas dinner?

Any other suggestions for Christmas activities in the area would also be welcomed.

Sorry I can't help with any restaurants, but one thing you might want to see is the "Edison/Ford Holiday Lights" in Ft. Myers. Every year they decorate the houses and grounds in different themes. I think this year it's toys from the 1920's. The price is about $15 pp. Free parking across the street. It's on McGregor Ave and you'll see the lights on the trees as you get closer. If you head into town on San Carlos across the bridge and keep going straight, San Carlos becomes McGregor and just keep going. We try to go every year.

I don't know what will opened for Christmas, so that is one problem.
Ycan alwa order a meal prepared at Publix a45 or $49.

There is a place called charlie's Boathouse, they have good food but don't know if reasonable or if open for christmas. Anthony's on the Beach is nice, but expensive (both are north of Tropical Sands.
You will want to go south to bonita Beach road most of the time. The traffic will be really heavy if you go north. Along Bonita Beach Road are several small restaurants, none really cheap. Haney's which was really reasonable has closed. There is a Perkins and Iguana Mia, at the intersection of 41 and Bonita Beach Road. There are loads of restaurants at Cocunut Point Mall, but I am sure won't open for chistmas.

We recently got back from the Captiva area, and spent a little time at Fort Myers Beach. On the right hand side a few blocks before you go over the bridge to FMB is a restaurant called The Crab Shack. If you're looking for a non-traditional T-giving meal i.e. seafood, we thought their food was very good. We love the Fort Myers, Captiva/Sanibel area and intend to return.
Enjoy!

If you would like to call me for any advice during your stay, we are in phone book, Marks, in estero.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We will be looking into all of them.

Thnaks again,
Ljane
