We just booked a week using Vistana StarOptions at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North. It has now been assigned a MARRIOTT confirmation number and is showing up on our Marriott.com account. However, it shows it is at Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas and does not show the North designation. Does anyone know if Marriott posts both South and North locations under the same generic heading, or have they switched us to South location since it doesn't specifically says KOR North? Has anyone had experience with this before?

Is there really a difference? They’re both right there.

You should be fine. It’s really just for nights purposes. They are prob both designated as ocean resort villas. Stick with what you booked on star options and that’s where you’ll be

I don't think it matters. In the past when I looked on the hotel site they didn't differentiate between the buildings. They probably don't have different have different code (or one they reveal) on the hotel site.
Since you booked with Star Options they should honor your Vistana reservation.

My only experience with this was when we added on a day at the beginning of our first stay at WKORV-N. We had booked an extra night on our arrival day using StarPoints (not SO). The reservation just indicated WKORV so we first pulled up to the south location. The valet checked his list and said we needed to check in at the North location.
Everything went smoothly and they gave us one half of the lock-off (since SO only did a 1 BR apparently - even though I had indicated 6 people on the reservation). The next day they opened up the other half of the lockoff so we didn’t event have to move units.
my guess is that the system doesn’t distinguish between the two resorts on the hotel website - but the Vistana resort confirmation of course will.

The Marriott.com site lists both timeshares as if they were the south property. That is because that is the way it is carried on Marriott.com if you were making a hotel reservation. You'll be fine and you'll be at the North property if that is what your Vistana reservation shows.
