In the Hyatt system does the owner of a timeshare deed that has an underlying deeded week have first right of reserving that week every year, or does the underlying deeded week have nothing to do with reservation availability because that is simply the basis for the number of points that are being released to that owner every year? Hope my question is clear. Thanks!

Yes - Any owner has the right for 6 moths to reserve the unit that he actually owns. Its called the HRP - Home Preference Period. The HRP period begins one year in advance of the week owned and ends 6 moths later. If the owner does not want to use his own unit (or part of it) he can use the HRP points to reserve any other availability that he can find in the Hyatt reservation system. This is the basic info.
