I want to update my milage posted to my United FF program because the miles will expire in 1/09. I have a Visa card, and an AMEX card. I already have my AMEX card linked to US Airways program. If I were to link my AMEX card to the United program, would the US Airways program know that I limked it to United, or do I have to go in and change the US Airways to not have a card linked to it at all. It does not matter what CC I use, however, I have several FF programs that I like to keep updated with posted miles from dining programs. I also have one linked to my Visa.

Not sure if this is your answer but I can tell you I belong to the AA and Delta dining programs. I cannot use the same credit card for both. Needs to be a different one for each. I use Amex for one and Visa for the other.

You'll have to unlink the card from the original dining program before linking to another one. They are all run by the same company and the computer will know that it is already linked to a program.

Each card can only get you miles for one mileage program. You can have multiple cards giving you miles for the same airline, but not multiple airlines for the same card. (You can have one card doing double-duty in other ways, such as UPromise + miles.)

The quickest and easiest way to get some miles on your account so the existing miles won't expire in 1/09 is to buy something from that airline's online shopping mall - for example you can buy an iTunes song for 99c! Another cool way to add miles is to play games on clublive.com - each game earns points, and with enough points you can choose prizes including miles! I've earned around $7,500 miles that way in the last few months.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will have my daughter purchase an i Tunes for .99. Once when I cancelled the CC connected to a dining program, they closed my account since there was not a card connected to it. I guess that is not the worst thing. I would just have to reregister. This stuff is so time consuming. I made an excell spread sheet to keep it all straight for my family of 4.
