Question about Owner Card

We purchased the HGVC at Las Vegas Hilton about 2 years ago on the resale market and we love being the owners and the flexibility of the HGVC system. Now I have a question about the owner card.

After the closure of the escrow, I did get a packet of documents from HGVC for the transfer of ownership. One of the things I got is a blue paper card that has my HGVC membership number and my name on it. I thought this is the ownership card. However, after I've gone to Grand Waikikian at the Hilton Hawaiian Village where they have a owners lounge at the 8th floor, I realize that as an owner of HGVC, I should have gotten a gold plastic card so that I can use the lounge. Is this correct?

So if I want to get this "gold" ownership card, can I get it by calling the HGVC reservation/owner service number in Orlando? Or is this something I have to get it from my home resort, the HGVC at Karen Ave.?

What are the benefits of carrying this ownership card when visiting a HGVC resort?

Thank you for any advice.

Just call the HGVC number and ask for one. They'll send it to you.

I've not realized you would need it to use the lounge, but then again I've never tried. About the only time it was helpful to have the card was when I was not staying at the HGVC Flamingo but wanted to use their wifi for a few hours in the lounge area there.

Otherwise I simply keep my HGVC number in my list of contacts in my smartphone. They ALWAYS have my information referenced by my name when I go to check in someplace.

Twelve years ago I use it to get a 10-15% discount off of HGVC merchandise at the HGVC shop in HHV. I still take it with me every year we go, but I haven't used it since.

We keep ours in a box in a filing cabinet, with HHonors cards and other useless cards.

In the box, I also have a photo of my favorite dog, Duchess, who passed 12 years ago,
not that I don't like my current dog, Buddy.

I've never needed a card to use the lounge in GW. Most of the time I don't even sign in since I mostly go there to print something.

I used to need my card when some property stores gave an owner's discount, but that has been discontinued everywhere I go.
