Question about II

Hello,

I am hoping someone can answer my questions about II.

My parents belong to II and RCI. I only belong to RCI. I need to make an exchange to an area that has timeshares that only exchange with II.

I was thinking my mom could put in a "request first" for the resort, and if it comes through, she could deposit my week (my resort is dually affiliated) and then get me a guest certificate. That way I don't have to join II, especially if the exchange doesn't come through.

Is this doable?

If it is, here is another question. I will be depositing a one bedroom (a resort with limited availability in II-Capri By the Sea in San Diego) and will need a two bedroom. With RCI, I have never received less than a 2 bedroom and sometimes 3 bedrooms for my one bedroom deposit. Will II give me a two bedroom?

Thanks for any insight.

JT

You can quitclaim your mom to you week and get your name on their account. Our daughter and sons are on our II account and our RCI points account because all of their names are on our deeds.

She cant just deposit your week into her account. The name(s) on the deed must be the same as the name(s) on the II account.

Yes its possible to get a two bedroom but you cannot put in an ongoing request for a unit larger than what you deposit. The only way to get a two bedroom for a one is an instant online confirmation if trade power is sufficient or a request to a resort that only has two bedroom units, again as long as trade power is sufficient.

My guess is that Capri by the Sea wont be as good a trader with II as it is with RCI. II places more emphasis on resort quality than RCI does and with II Capri is a standard resort, rather than Premier or Select.

well rats, I was afraid it couldn't work. I really don't want to join II, but I guess I will have to.

One more question: While our unit is a one bedroom, it sleeps 6 (4 in beds and one sleeper sofa) Can I request the same occupancy with II, or does it need to be by bedrooms?

Thanks

occupancy

II is by the bedroom, i.e. how many the unit can sleep privately versus total capacity.

SO, if it sleeps 4 in one bedroom (there is a queen bed, then a divider wall (no door, just an opening, and then a set of bunkbeds) is that sleeps 2 or 4 privately?

It seems dumb I don't know, but it's never been an issue with RCI.
