Question about II Deposits

I gave my RW renter the option to cancel his stay at MGO in mid-June and he accepted. I am coming up on my 60 day window and trying to decide what to do. Given that MGO is a highly desirable property, there is not much availability in the 2020 platinum window to reschedule. That said, I am considering a deposit into II. Given this scenario, what are my options? More specifically, I have a few questions:

1) Do I have a good change of securing another platinum week at MGO in the next two years if I deposit?
2) Would I have the ability to trade to another high demand resort (e.g. somewhere in Hawaii, Park City, etc.)?

I have never used II before, and I just want to make sure that if I deposit my MGO week that I will be able to secure something good (either later this year or in following years). Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Are you looking for personal use? It is against T&C to rent out an II week. Also, I imagine there will be more demand next year as more deposits from people doing same thing.

I was renting prior to depositing. Now that the renter has cancelled, I am considering a deposit. I just don't know what to expect if I do decide to deposit it.

If you want to test run a deposit, you can go to exchange and select your unit. It will show you what is available now and you don't lose your week until you confirm that you want to exchange (or if you are really worried use a fake reservation number but same data so it is real search..)

There may be more competition but also people might deposit earlier to avoid getting stuck like this year.
I usually see Hawaii with my Palm Desert and Canyon Villas.

But searching now will only show what is sitting there leftover after all requests are filled.

If you deposit your week be sure to do it at more than 60 days so you don’t end up in flexchange which will limit you to booking 60 days ahead of check in by manual exchange.
Once you deposit your week go ahead and immediately place a request (ongoing search). There are videos tutorials in the general discussion section of II if you haven’t done it before.
I have have excellent luck placing requests with my gold season Harbour Lake unit. The key is to request early.
