Question about Bonnet Creek rental

Hi! There are a couple of Bonnet Creek rentals on Ebay that I'm interested in for late December. My problem is that I'm only 99% sure that I will have that time off due to a project at work that may or may not be completed by then. I don't own a timeshare so I'm not sure what the rules are. Are these owners locked into their reservations or would they be able to modify? I might not find out until about two weeks before the reservation would start if I get my time off or not. What I would like to do is get the reservation and if it doesn't work out for this December modify the reservation to a week I have off in the summer, even if I'm overpaying due to the points being cheaper for a summer reservation. I'm ok paying change fees or whatever since obviously I'm the one being difficult etc.

Thank you!
Brad

You need to ask the ebay sellers. Since my daughter rents BC, I can say that Bonnet Creek is tough to get, so if your plans changed, it could be nearly impossible to switch your dates because owners grab when they can.

I'd be tempted to wait until your December plans firm up. It seems there are a lot of BC rentals available.

Points Protection can be added to a Wyndham reservation for $49. Points Protection must be added 15 days or more before check-in. When added, the reservation can be canceled without penalty right up to the day of check-in. Thus, the owner gets his points back and presumably, the renter would only have to pay the $49 for Points Protection.

I have used the Points Protection for uncertain renters like yourself. It worked perfectly. My renter paid me $49 to hold the reservation and ultimately backed out. I canceled the reservation and refunded everything except $49.

There is no such thing as modifying the dates of a Wyndham reservation. A Wyndham reservation can be canceled -- nothing else. Then the owner has to start all over with a new reservation.
