Swapped emails with QH this morning about parking. QH did not have a parking contract for some time. It does now.

Parking is at the Wyndham Hotel for $36/day with in/out privileges.

Don't you get parking at QH under the building?

Hahaha! There may be underground parking somewhere in N.O. Maybe someone knows where but I sure don't. That may have a lot to do with $36/night for parking.

The French Quarter is a relative high spot in N.O. and it is still below the level of the river. The Mississippi River runs through New Orleans kind of like the SE/SW Freeway runs through Washington, DC or I-95 runs through some of Baltimore.

Parts of New Orleans are below sea level.

I'm not aware of any underground parking in New Orleans. Let's face it, we bury people above ground in New Orleans. There are several first floor parking areas under buildings.

Actually most of New Orleans is below sea level. Over 50% and the average elevation for all of New Orleans is between 1-2 feet below sea level.

Hi there fellow QH neighbor. Our other vacation condo on Esplanade Avenue near the French Market has in-the building first floor parking garage. very convenient if you can snag one of their first come first serve parking spots. Sometimes you will find the spots occupied by Resort employee vehicles..you have to go to front desk and plead if they will ask employees to move their vehicle to the street public parking…. Only 2 access openings, the windowless garage is locked in the evening hours, but intercom and CC surveillance permits access after hours…provides comfort to the over all building security as it is around the corner from the bustles of the Frenchmen Street music scene. I believe the HOA will start charge parking fees this year.

I just had a thought (I get 'em occasionally)...
How about building parking garages above the cemeteries?
St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 would be convenient to the Quarter.
