Quarantine Fatigue Is Real
Instead of an all-or-nothing approach to risk prevention, Americans need a manual on how to have a life in a pandemic.

this is a great article. People have to relearn how to live their life and minimize the risks The current situation is not sustainable. I would also like to stress out that shaming others is not helping and we have seen plenty, including on this site.

A stinky situation is brewing in New Jersey.

Authorities are finding an “inordinate amount of urine and feces being left behind in the parks in water bottles” as their bathrooms remain closed during the coronavirus outbreak, according to the state’s police superintendent.

Seems extremely short-sighted of officials to close the restroom facilities. If it is a manpower issue, that is one thing, but to simply close them is causing a much higher health risk vs. having them open. Now the public and workers have to deal with all of the urine and feces laying around the park. Begs the question: what were these officials thinking?

Just out of curiosity, how is this related to quarantine fatigue? :ponder:

I assumed this irrational behavior could be included under being quarantined and fatigued, but perhaps I was wrong. I really don't mind removing it if you or anyone else, feels it doesn't relate to the topic. My apologies. ;)

I know this is real and was mildly experiencing this last week. I have been working (Essential) through this so not experiencing cabin fever like some others here. Just needed to get away for a weekend, so we went up north to the cottage. Best therapy ever. Hope others here find a safe/healthy outlet, camping, hiking, biking, birding etc. Best wishes for mental health. :)

What I really liked about this article is the harm reduction approach. How can we each make decisions about what to do to minimize our risks and the risk to others? When is an activity a low risk activity that is worth the small risk? Where are the big risks that we should continue to be strict about? I can now see the value of masks and other risk reduction guidelines because they are a harm reduction approach. If we do these things and we can lower the risk (even though masks are not scientifically validated yet), then why not? Eventually, I hope science will catch up and we will know what is really risky and what we can do to minimize the risks. Until then, we just need to take reasonable precautions while learning to live in the new normal of life.

They weren't. Same way the store managers weren't thinking in limiting one way in, one way out-go in ONE door at Loews-have to walk the whooollleee building to plant section. Thankfully can check out there IF-only IF-what I need is INSIDE the gates. The plants they pull outside? Yeah you have to walk ALLLLL the way back to the ONE opening to pay. So Much Sense!
This relates to the parks
