As a Hilton owner, I can get something on internal exchange or Open Season (for Hilton resert) in Orlando. I have stayed at Bonnet Creek 2BR 5 years ago and thought it was comparable to any Hilton resort in Orlando.
Is it still the same?
Any up and downs?
RCI fee is going up and up each year, so I think using Hilton points would save more cost for me.
Bonnet Creek was in great location (in my memory), wondering if it has worth to try in RCI exchange (extra $200) instead of Hilton resort.
Thanks!

I would take any Hilton over Bonnet Creek, even though BC is a better location. I do not like the fact that BC has rooms on both sides of the hallway. 50% of the rooms have a parking lot view, and the corridor makes it quite noisy in the rooms. There are several other things I don't like about BC as well. For one thing, their check-in is the worst in the industry.

Even DVC resorts have rooms on both sides of the hallway. Plus, many DVC resorts have lockout doors --- which you will hear the noisy ones in additional to the hallways.

Bonnet Creek has no lockout units. ;)

IMO both resorts are comparable but if you get a Presidential suite at Bonnet Creek then it's superior. Location at Bonnet Creek also makes it superior for a Disney-centric trip, but if you're doing Universal, Sea World and other Orlando things then Hilton is more convenient.

The check in is much friendlier at HGVC as they know you are coming and announce your name to the staff. At Bonnet Creek if you check into tower 6 it's also very convenient for getting porters to help you unload. The parking at both resorts is hit or miss depending on the time of day you return to your unit. Publix is closer to the Hiltons.

I love the lazy river at Bonnet Creek which makes the pools a plus. Hilton seems to have more staff per guest. You can't walk 5 feet without someone asking if they can help you. Wi-fi is free at both resorts. The sales staff at HGVC is definitely more professional and the concierge is actually a real concierge if you want reservations or help.

I love them both and use them both for my different types of trips to Orlando.
