Anyone have any information about Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda?

I had a timeshare there for about a year, never stayed there and never will. Very shady place, unless they changed management. It’s been a while.

I used to stay there at least once a year before Hurricane Charley hit. We absolutely loved it then. My late mother-in-law and her sister lived in Punta Gorda and we used it as a base to visit them. We lost our traded week because it was shutdown for major repair due to the hurricane. RCI said we didn't buy insurance and there was no refund. My aunt-in-law died shortly after the hurricane came through and my mother-in-law moved to Ohio. So we had no reason to go back to Punta Gorda. I have no idea what it is like now.

I too stayed there a long time ago; very different experience staying above a shopping center. It had a pool and marina, and marina “residents” shared the pool at that time. Not a lot to do in Punta Gorda, but climate is great.

Thanks. Looks nice on the website, but you never know. Thought it might be a fun place to try.

Was in Punta Gorda with American Cruise lines in Feb. We anchored nearby and visited Fishermans Village. It was very lively with many shops and restaurants. Some hurricane damage was still visible. Really did not see what the timeshares were like. Suggest you call with questions.

I think you are referring to it being "shady" to a timeshare owner? We loved that place but we did not own there.

The reasons I said was they tried to cheat insurance company and owners at the resort. Didn’t use money they received for repairs after Hurricanes. Charged excessive assessments to owners with no promise of when we could use our timeshares again. I signed back my lease to them. Just not happy with management there.

We enjoyed eating at some restaurants, and I enjoyed looking around at the shops.

We stayed in Charlotte Harbor and visited Fishermen‘s Village we were impressed and bought a deed for six years, never stayed, had bad experience, sent back deed. If you trade in you probably be ok but don’t buy there.

I know nothing about the resort, but we have friends who live in Punta Gorda and they love it, though the wife says it’s very hot. (they are origin from NY).
