Hello informed Mexico Traveling Tuggers,

My in-laws have vacation plans in August to spend a week in Nuevo Vallarta and a second week in Puerto Vallarta. Has anyone heard of any lockdown restrictions in either area that would force them cancel/reschedule their plans?

Thanks for any insight that I can share with them.

While the resorts we own in PV and NV are open it kind of reads like many other business in the area are not. Recently it was reported that the entire area might go back to lock down. The Vallarta Daily has some current info.

I just came back from Paradise Village in NV. The beaches in PV are open with limits to total people. The beaches in NV are NOT open, for some reason. Most of the restaurants in PV are open and very safe, they wear gloves and masks and have sanitizing pads at he doors. Same for NV restaurants. We felt safer there than in the US as far as sanitizing and cleaning. A high % of people out and about have masks on, there are a few, like the people n the US, that ignore things. Traffic is down due to the virus and the Malecon is pretty open, as there are way less people on it. We went to Pipis, La dolce Vita, La Posta, and Joe Jacks, all open and sanitary. We also went to Karen's Place in Bucerias and was fine. She even let us walk out on the beach as the police will not hassle you if you are acting rationally. The Pirate Ship dinner cruise is operating, but most tours are not.
