Dear Owners and Guests,

Thank you for choosing Marriott's Grande Ocean during your stay on beautiful Hilton Head Island.

While you're here, the resort will be undergoing a villa refurbishment project that is taking place from September 27, 2020, to March 27, 2021.

Refurbishment activity will occur daily, primarily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. with light work occurring outside this timeframe. During normal working hours, you may hear typical construction noise such as operating machinery and carpentry work, however, all resort amenities are expected to remain open and fully operational for your enjoyment.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the resort at 843-686-7343.

See you soon,
Your Resort Team at Marriott's Grande Ocean

Reported by a friend "in the know" who has been staying at Grande Ocean since December, and is due to leave in March:
Grande Ocean will be removing the large jetted tubs and reconfiguring the showers to make larger walk-in showers.
A new normal-sized tub will be placed, and the bathroom door will supposedly be a barn door type
to separate the master BR from the bathroom. Also the living room sofas, coffee tables, and other furniture will be replaced at some point.
I was just there but never talked to any of the staff regarding these changes, but will do so very soon.

Hilton Head's Grande Ocean renovations:

These are notes taken from a recent Owners Meeting by a friend (Penny) who attended the meeting.
Attached are the pix that the General Manager shows at the Owner's Meeting each week, also taken by Penny.

Renovations begin Sept 27 until March 27 starting on the north side first.
Approx 5 weeks per bldg updates, but won't know for sure until model unit is done. Hope it is shorter.

Model room will be built in 83 bldg (Royal Tern) and
Owners can stay in it starting in May.

Updates include (see attached photos)...

Kitchen --
New sink, faucets & garbage disposal
New cabinet fronts
Fix any internal drawers or shelves
Level any counters that have settled unevenly
New backs on stools -- not orange --
Note that colors are not accurate on illustrations.

Living/Dining Room-
New backs on dining chairs - slip covers instead of re-upholstering (velcro on bottom to hold them in place).
New couch - stronger supports with springs and support straps; same type of mattress.
New coffee table.
No big ottoman, just the small blue one.
Two end tables & lamps & charging stations (north end only cuz south already has them).
Replace complete sliding door in living room only -- bedroom ones not being done now.
New carpet throughout unit.

Master Bedroom-
Replace desk instead of chair & ottoman near window (top one in illustration).
Chair & ottoman might go to living room.
New matresses in both bedrooms.
Full length mirror in bedroom on back of door.

Master bath-
Remove existing whirlpool tub.
Current area where tub & shower are is to be replaced with smaller "soaking tub" & larger frosted glass enclosed shower which opens towards vanity.
Bench seat in shower.
Hand-held shower head added to shower. Grab bars added.
New shelving by tub & shower for toiletries, shampoo, etc.
Vent above shower.
Toilet area separate -- no longer go thru toilet area to shower.
Dimmable lights around mirrors (not currently on north units).
Vanity mirrors height adjusted.
Portable night lights.

Guest bath-
Replace shower with frosted glass enclosure & sliding door opening.
Move toilet paper placement.
Added shelves & robe hooks.
Grab bars.

I appreciate it when the properties show the display boards of their plans.
