Dear HGV Club Members and Guests,
We care about you and your family’s health and, to that end, have been closely monitoring the evolving situation around the novel coronavirus.
While we have had no reported positive COVID-19 cases within our guests or HGV Team Members, the resort has decided to temporarily suspend operations at Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club to protect our Club Members, guests, Team Members and community, and help stop the spread of the virus. The closure became effective starting at 12:01am PST on March 27, 2020 and is currently scheduled to last through May 31, 2020.
Your upcoming reservation is being affected, and we are reaching out to you so you may cancel or modify your reservation for a later date. Here’s how:
  • If you are an HGV Club Member, we will automatically cancel your reservation. There will be no cancellation penalties and we will refund any applicable booking fee within 3 business days. To make a new reservation, visit the Club website today. Through May 31, we’ve eliminated fees when booking a 2020 or 2021 vacation online. (Club booking windows apply.)
  • If you are an Owner through Westgate Resorts, your reservation will be canceled and you will receive a credit to your account for the number of days booked. We will also refund the fee associated with your reservation, if applicable.
  • If you are an exchange guest through Interval International, please contact them directly as soon as possible at 866-657-8418 for information about your reservation.
  • If you are a hotel guest and booked via Hilton.com, your reservation with Hilton will automatically be cancelled. To make a new reservation, please visit Hilton.com or call 1-800-HILTONS (1-800-445-8667).
  • If you made your reservation through a third party, such as Expedia, or a timeshare exchange, you will need to contact your booking provider directly for any changes or cancelations.
  • If you are an HGV Package Holder, please reach out to us by calling 800-482-0047 (9 a.m.– 9 p.m. ET, seven days a week) or emailing customerservice@hgv.com for assistance with rebooking your vacation.

Yup. Got that today and our May 17 trip is toast, as expected. Flight changes were big enough, so called WN for cash refund.

With the strip being closed I was surprised that any of the timeshares or hotels were operating. I can look at the sky, trees, sun, moon, my bed, and my familty at home I don't need to go on a vacation to a place that is dead!

Interesting. Just received a second notification about the Elara cancellation. This one says that it wlll be auto-cancelled, points (and fees (we have none of the latter) automagically returned.
